Kijimuna Festa/ASSITEJ International Meeting, first international ASSITEJ meeting in Okinawa, Japan
President of ASSITEJ Croatia Romano Bogdan will participate at the upcoming ASSITEJ meeting and Kijimuna Festival to be held in Okinawa, Japan from 28 July – 5 August 2012.
In addition to Romano Bogdan, Croatia will also be represented at the festival by the Mala Scena Theatre, an ASSITEJ Croatia member, with the original play “Baukač” by Ivica Šimić. Ivica Šimić, General Secretary of ASSITEJ will also participate as a panellist in several symposia and round tables, the most important of which is certainly “The role of theatre for children and young people in peace-building” (http://www.asim.kijimuna-festa.org/70-peace-building.php).
The play Superhero, directed by Ivica Šimić and starring Dražen Čuček is also part of the festival line-up. This play is the product of the three year project Patchwork Family (http://www.theatre-epicentre.org/naslovna/patchwork-family.aspx http://patchwork-family.theatre-epicentre.org/project), a cooperation project between theatres and festivals from Japan (Kijimuna Festa), Korea (Joyful Theatre), Hong Kong (Mingri Theatre), Taiwan (Song Song Song Theatre, Taipei), China (Peking Opera), Russia (TYZ Ekaterinburg), Austria (DschungelWien) and Croatia (Mala Scena Theatre).
As part of the Kijimuna Festa, an Art Market will also take place, where Croatian theatre can be presented.
