At the General Assembly of ASSITEJ International, held this year as part of the ASSITEJ congress in Copenhagen and Malmoe from 20–29 May, our Ivica Šimić was re-elected as General Secretary of this esteemed organisation.
Representatives from 56 countries participated at the Assembly. Ivica Šimić was elected with: 141 votes for, 6 against and 16 restrained (each delegation with 3 votes). This is also confirmation of the successful work of the Secretariat under Ivica Šimić.
The Croatian delegation was represented by the president and members of the Executive Committee of Assitej Croatia.
The new president of ASSITEJ International is Yvette Hardy from South Africa. The new vice-presidents are Kim Peter Kovac, USA, Maria Ines Falconi, Argentina, and Stephan Fisher Fels, Germany, and the treasurer is Noel Jordan from Australia, and members from the national centres from the United Kingdom, Russia, Iceland, Serbia, Cameroon, Japan, India and Mexico were elected as members of the executive board.
