7. AWARD FOR BEST DIRECTION

The award for best direction goes to ANICA TOMIĆ for the play A BOY IVEK AND DOG WHINEY performed by the PINKLEC Theatre Group from Čakovec and Children’s Puppet Scene of the Croatian National Theatre in Varaždin.
8. AWARD FOR BEST PLAY
This year’s festival is based exclusively on non-dramatic templates, narrative models. The majority of plays do not succeed in pulling out of mere narration. This jury wants to support a play that did so by consciously moving away from the starriness of theatre, especially that for children and young people. Despite its serious topic of neglected children, this play was made without spectacle and false pathos, and with great ethic values. Another special quality of the play is its “ensemble-ness”, which is lacking in Croatian theatre. This award goes to the play A BOY IVEK AND DOG WHINEY performed by the PINKLEC Theatre Group from Čakovec and Children’s Puppet Scene of the Croatian National Theatre in Varaždin.
