15th ASSITEJ Croatia Meeting of Professional Theatres for Children and Youth

From 15–19 October 2012, the 15th Assitej Croatia Meeting of Professional Theatres for Children and Youth will be held in Čakovec, Croatia. Of the 19 plays proposed, eleven plays from all around Croatia will be put on. The selector for this year’s festival is Anica Tomić. The panel of judges, consisting of Matko Botić, Tamara Kučinović and Maja Sviben, will award the most successful plays in a number of categories. The festivals to date have been exceptionally well received, with more than 5000 visitors on average. The fact that the Croatian theatres are putting on their best achievements from the past season has secured this festival the status of one of the leading children’s events in Croatia.

The 15th ASSITEJ Croatia Meeting also offers an excellent accompanying programme. On Monday, 15 October, four plays by the Network of Professionally Led Theatres for Children and Youth will be put on in the Croatian National Theatre in Varaždin. During the meeting, workshops will also be held for drama teachers, under the leadership of Amelie Malmann, drama teacher from Berlin.

On Wednesday, 17 October, the international meeting ‘ASSITEJ Croatia World Collaboration’ will be held. The national ASSITEJ Austria centre will be presented with the performance of two plays and an accompanying exhibit.

Also on that day, a round table on the topic “Development of the strategic plan for ASSITEJ Croatia” will be held.

The meeting is organised by the Pinklec Theatre Group – Cultural Centre and the Assitej Croatia centre.
