14th MEETING OF THE PROFESSIONALLY MANAGED CHILDREN’S AND YOUTH THEATRES OF THE CROATIAN ASSITEJ CENTRE COMES TO AN END
This year the Zvjezdana Ladika Award for the best drama educational work was given jointly to the director Mario Kovač and to the assistant director and drama educator Denis Kirinčić for the performance Od kolijevke pa do groba (From the Cradle to the Grave…) performed by the students of the Malik theatre workshop and the Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc from Rijeka.
The performance entitled Ja šišmiš (Me, the bat), by the Virko drama studio from Šibenik under the expert and artistic guidance of Sergej Mioč was recommended for this year International Children’s Festival in Šibenik.
Together with those two mentioned performances, the jury during the 15th meeting of children’s and youth theatres of the Croatian ASSITEJ Centre in Čakovec in 2012 recommended
two other performances from this year’s meeting. Materine lipe riči (Mother’s beautiful words) by the Hvar Drama Studio with Dolores Kolumbić and Tamara Curić and Tamna soba (Dark
room) by the ZeKaeM drama studio guided by Jadranka Korda Krušlin.
There were 13 performances of drama and theatre studios from Šibeik, Split, Osijek, Rijeka, Zagreb, Pula, Karlovac, Sisak, Virovitica, Velika Gorica, Čakovec, Hvar and Varaždin staged
during the 14th Meeting of ASSITEJ in Bjelovar from 27th to 30th March 2012. The jury consisted of Simona Dimitrov Palatinuš, Svetlana Patafta and Jadran Grubišić.
All the performances were free and the organizers estimate that 2.5 thousand children saw them. Besides the performances, the meeting of the members of the network of the
professionally managed children’s and youth theatres of the Croatian ASSITEJ Centre was held.
